Innkeepers Steve and Karen fell in love with North Carolina 18 years ago. The time for a new adventure was calling and they were determined to continue their love affair with NC. Becoming innkeepers had been in the back of their minds since their first B&B experience for their wedding.
They searched from the ocean to the mountains for the right place to call home. The beautiful pink lady of The Lion and the Rose stole their hearts and the charm of the historic Montford district of Asheville made for the perfect combination for these outdoor, nature lovers.
Steve and Karen, are affectionately known as “Mr and Mrs Wild” for their love of wildlife and crazy travel adventures. They have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and meet so many wonderful people along the way. They love to hear and share travel stories and connect with their guests. When asked how they would describe The Lion and the Rose, they will happily quote William Butler Yeats, “There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven’t yet met.”
The inn is also home to Oreo and Ozzy, the friendly family pets. They are both Shih Tzus and they enjoy time in the beautifully landscaped yard. They are happy to say hello to guests who request to meet them but they are never allowed in the guest room areas.
