Built in the late 1880s, the award-winning Walker Manor Bed & Breakfast is a recorded Texas historic landmark home that sits in the heart of the Historic Downtown District of Gladewater, the Antique Capital of East Texas. The Inn features three lavish turn-of-the-century style guest suites each with their own private bathroom, a gorgeous garden, beautiful wraparound porch, a Tea Room, and wedding and special event spaces. Guests enjoy gourmet breakfast, and can also book high tea and dinner as part of the Inn’s special packages.
Founded by the Texas and Pacific Railway Company in 1873, Gladewater became an oil boom town during the early 20th century. It’s known for being a base during Elvis Presley’s early career, and also as the town where Johnny Cash wrote “I Walk the Line”. Along with antique and boutique shopping, Gladewater Opry House, and Gladewater Museum, there is also Lake Gladewater and Everett Park to enjoy.
