TWENTYNINE PALMS, CALIFORNIA
Home to the east entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms is centrally located in Southern California’s Mojave Desert and is the gateway to Mojave Trails National Monument and Mojave National Preserve. Twentynine Palms is home to the Marine Corps Base 29 Palms, and is a popular desert and outdoor recreation destination. This vibrant art community is home to over 60 pieces of public art including murals, sculptures, and various art installations.

Local attractions and activities include Sky’s The Limit Observatory and Nature Center, 29 Palms Art Gallery, Theatre 29, Tortoise Rock Casino, 29 Palm’s Historical Society’s Old Schoolhouse Museum, Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park, Smith’s Ranch Drive-in Movie Theatre, Bowladium Family Fun Center, Roadrunner Dunes and Desert Winds Golf Courses, The Boardroom Axe Throwing, and 29 Palms Farmers Market. Local parks include Joshua Tree National Park, Luckie Park, Veterans Park, Jerry Bucklin Park, Knott Sky Park, and Historic Plaza Park. There are a variety of shops, restaurants, and lodging establishments.

Nearby communities within the greater Morongo Basin region include Wonder Valley, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, Pioneertown, Lucerne Valley, and Landers. It is about an hour from Coachella Valley, just under two hours from the Salton Sea, about two-and-half hours from Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Los Angeles, and Orange County, around 3 hours from Las Vegas and San Diego.
