Minnesota has 6 National Park Units, 1 of which is a National Park, Voyageurs National Park, and two of which are National Monuments, Grand Portage National Monument and Pipestone
National Monument. There is also the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area and the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway, plus the North Country National Scenic Trail.
There are 67 state parks, 9 state recreation areas, 9 state waysides, 23 state trails and 59 State Forests in Minnesota. There are also 3 National Forests, 20 National Wildlife Refuges and 1 Wild & Scenic River. There are also over 1600 Places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 25 National Historic Landmarks, and 8 National Natural Landmarks.
