DINUBA, CALIFORNIA
ON BIG BLEND RADIO: Heathe Jones, CEO/President of Dinuba Chamber of Commerce, gives an overview of what to experience in Dinuba, California. Watch here in the YouTube player or download the podcast on Spreaker, Podbean, or SoundCloud.
Located in Tulare County in the heart of Central California, Dinuba is a rural community and gateway destination to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Sequoia National Forest, and Giant Sequoia National Monument. Dinuba boasts a charming historic downtown, along with scenic views of mountain vistas, orchards, and vineyards.
Ridge Creek Dinuba Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole champion golf course built on land that once produced plums and peaches. The 18-hole championship golf course was specifically designed to use reclaimed water from the city and use state-of-the-art science to irrigate the vast native and playing areas. Scottsdale, Arizona-based John Fought steered the design of the par-72, upscale daily-fee municipal golf course, strategically incorporating natural grasses and bunkers to produce a heathland golf experience as found in the classic courses of England. The facility also includes a clubhouse, Three Finger Jack’s full-service restaurant, and a state-of-the-art 360-degree practice facility featuring one of the largest driving ranges west of the Rockies.
Another Dinuba treasure is the Alta District Historical Society Museum & Cultural Center which covers local history including pioneer family life and local agriculture.
Along with cotton, nuts, some vegetables, and a wide selection of fruits including grapes, plums, peaches, and citrus, Dinuba is known for its raisin production. Every September the community and visitors come together to celebrate Raisin Day with a parade, family-friendly activities, and entertainment. A farm experience can be had at Naylor’s Organic Family Farm where they grow over 30 different varieties of stone fruit along with blackberries. Mike and Nori Naylor offer a Bed & Breakfast style farm stay in their house and cottages, and during the season (May-September), you can book farm tours and participate in their u-pick opportunities.
More lodging options include the Best Western Americana which has a great outdoor pool, and the Holiday Inn Express. Along with many other eateries, dining options include Three Finger Jacks, Me & Martha’s Mexican Restaurant, and New York Pizza & Grill.
Dinuba is a destination on the Love Your Parks Tour (most recent visit was April 2021). Plan your visit at https://www.dinubachamber.com/ and www.DiscovertheSequoias.com.
