ARIVACA, ARIZONA
Home to Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and Arivaca Lake, Arivaca is a small unincorporated community about 60-65 miles south of Tucson, in Pima County. The area is surrounded by mountains and ranch country with beautiful rolling hillsides of desert grasslands and mesquite trees. Located near old Ruby Mine, the area is of rich geological significance and abundant in a diverse array of resident and migratory birds, and wildlife. The town and its surrounding region has a few shops and galleries, restaurants and lodging facilities. It’s definitely worth a trip to this region, even if it’s just for a scenic drive, especially if you are visiting Saguaro National Park, Tumacacori National Historical Park, Madera Canyon or Tucson.
