Located in the Pacific Northwest, Washington state is home to over 140 parks, with 17 units managed by National Park Service including: Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail, Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, Lewis & Clark National Historical Park, Manhattan Project National Historic Park, Minidoka National Historic Site, Mount Rainier National Park, Nez Perce National Historical Park, North Cascades National Park, Olympic National Park, Oregon National Historic Trail, San Juan Island National Historical Park, Whitman Mission National Historic Site, and Wing Luke Museum.  

The Evergreen State is also home to 1,557 National Historic Places, 24 National Historic Landmarks, 18 National Natural Landmarks, 19 Marine Parks, 143 State Parks, 24 National Wildlife Refuges, 9 National Forests, 1 World Heritage Site.
