Tennessee is home to approximately 16 units within the National Park Service. National Park Units include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, plus 2 National Historical Parks, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and Manhattan Project National Historical Park and 2 National Military Parks, Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park and Shiloh National Military Park. There is also the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site as well as 2 National Battlefields, Fort Donelson National Battlefield and Stones River National Battlefield. Trails include the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail and the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail. In addition, there is the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Natchez Trace Parkway, Obed Wild & Scenic River and the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area.
