North Dakota is home to 5 National Park Units,13 State Parks, approximately 54,373 miles of river, but no designated wild & scenic rivers, 33 National Wildlife Refuges, 6 National Forests, 1 National Scenic Trail, 1 National Historic Trail, 5 National Recreational Trails, and 2 National Water Trails. There are 3 places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 7 National Historic Landmarks and 4 National Natural Landmarks.
The National Park Units are Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site, Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, North Country National Scenic Trail and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
