Missouri National Parks & Public Lands

Missouri is home to the California National Historic Trail, Oregon National Historic Trail, Pony Express National Historic Trail and Santa Fe National Historic Trail all began in Missouri. The Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail and the Trail Of Tears National Historic Trail also run though the state.

There are 2 Historic Sites, the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site and the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, plus the George Washington Carver National Monument, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and the Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. In addition, there is also the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.

Missouri is home to 92 State Park and State Historic Sites, 1 National Forest, 9 National Wildlife Refuges, and 1 Wild & Scenic River. There are approximately 2298 places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and 37 National Historic Landmarks.
