Michigan is home to the Isle Royale National Park, as well as the Keweenaw National Historical Parkthe River Raisin National Battlefield Park and the Motor Cities National Heritage Area.  The North Country National Scenic Trail runs through the state and it has 2 National Lakeshores, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.


Michigan has approximately 103 State Parks and 6 State Forests, 4 National Forests, 8 National Wildlife Refuges, and 16 Wild & Scenic Rivers. There are 1906 Places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 42 National Historic Landmarks, and 12 National Natural Landmarks.
