Kentucky is home to six units within the National Park Service including: Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park, Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Fort Donelson National Battlefield, Trail Of Tears National Historic Trail, and Mammoth Cave National Park which is home to the world’s longest cave system.

It’s also home to 45 state parks and 82 wildlife management areas, as well as the Daniel Boone National Forest, Red River Gorge Geological Area, the Appalachian Mountains, Cumberland Falls, Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, Bad Branch Falls State Nature Preserve, Jefferson Memorial Forest, Lake Cumberland, Natural Bridge, and Breaks Interstate Park which is known the “Grand Canyon of the South.”
