Elaine Master’s storyteller’s heart unspools tales from a life dedicated to wanderlust. She backpacked across Sri Lanka just before their Civil War, explored Europe in a broken-down bus before van life was a thing, and traversed Switzerland and Egypt solo. Founding a SE Alaskan radio drama group led to an award from American Women in Radio and TV, lots of voiceover and theater in the NW, before she made San Diego home.
Elaine writes about sustainable travel and planetary stewardship for various online magazines and garnered first place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for features in Edible Magazine and Roadtrippers, as well as a short video feature about heritage hogs. Her bona fides include Hidden Compass, The Bucket, International Luxury Travel, Travel Awaits, and Matador Travel.
Elaine’s book, Drivetime Yoga, won an Indie Excellence Award for Best Audio and two hybrid travel memoirs are in development. When not writing, producing short videos, or scuba diving the world, Elaine helms professional development webinars as a Board member of the San Diego Press Club.
Elaine is working on a memoir and is thrilled that San Diego has been home for over twenty years. Follow her blog at https://www.tripwellgal.com/
