Youth Success on the Love Your Parks Tour

An introduction to a Love Your Parks Tour story series, assigned by Bobbi DePorter.

Bobbi DePorter is the Co-founder of SuperCamp, President of Quantum Learning Network (QLN) and creator of the 8 Keys of Excellence character education program. Hear her Big Blend Radio interview where she discusses Youth Success and sends Nancy J. Reid & Lisa D. Smith on a story mission on their Love Your Parks Tour.

The story mission is to document youth success stories across the country including the accomplishments and achievements of youth, as well as the positive opportunities communities create for their youth. An example they discuss is the pictured art installation ‘Quail Trail’ at Naranja Park in Oro Valley, Arizona. A partnership between the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance with the town of Oro Valley and the Pima Association of Governments, this public art was created and installed in the summer of 2015 by Oro Valley students under the guidance of two Tucson artists, Jason Butler and Hiro Tashima. The student art team includes Brenna Bumb, Oscar Cardenas, Naomi Chandran, Molly Haskell, Mikenna Hill, Rachel Hipps, Cassie Ho, Sophia Silva, Haley Smith and Ariana Snyder.

Bobbi is an early pioneer in the applications of accelerated learning, which she first applied in her highly successful business school. She then had the vision to help children realize their personal greatness by teaching these same accelerated learning techniques to them. This inspiration led to the launch of SuperCamp learning and life skills academic summer camps in 1982. SuperCamp has achieved worldwide success with over 75,000 student graduates from the program. To date, Bobbi’s learning, life skills and character education programs have impacted more than twenty million young people worldwide. The mission of QLN is to change the lives of 50 million children through the 8 Keys of Excellence Character Education Program. Learn more at and
