NARANJA PARK IN ORO VALLEY, ARIZONA

Encompassing 213 acres, Naranja Park is the site for the annual Oro Valley Music Festival. The park features a number of trails and multi-use fields, plus an archery range, two off leash dog park areas, and a ramada with a grill. It is also home to the Sonoran Desert Flyers, an organization dedicated to radio control model aircraft, as well as the Arizona Heroes Memorial, and the Quail Trail art installation that was created by local students and artists. There are 180 paved parking spaces. Metal detecting is permitted for members (membership is free).

ON BIG BLEND RADIO: Lisa Hopper, Executive Director of the Arizona Heroes Memorial, shares how this Memorial will pay tribute to Arizona’s veterans, active military, first responders, and healthcare workers. The site in Naranja Park, Oro Valley, AZ is currently under construction, with an expected completion of Summer 2024. When complete, the Memorial will be open to the public, allowing for a dedicated space in which to remember and learn about the Grand Canyon State’s heroes. Such a physical space is unique to Arizona.
