2018 IFWTWA Conference Agenda includes:
Day 1: Arrival and hosted evening Welcome Reception at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club.
Day 2: Professional development workshops, panels, keynote presentation, tourism marketplace, and shop and dine around the village of Coupeville.
Day 3: Whidbey Island Tour, including a visit to a mussel farm, island villages, state parks, farms and wineries.
Post-Conference Fam Trip: Attendees may apply to attend a more in-depth island tour that will also include Camano Island and the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, among other itineraries. Keynote speaker is to be announced. Panels will include a chef/farmer panel and a tourism panel with a focus on arts, history and adventure, each with local Whidbey Island panelists.
Workshops will focus on professional development topics, such as leveraging social media to build your brand, beyond farm-to-table: food writing trends, mining dozens of stories from one destination, and more. The tourism marketplace will have approximately a dozen exhibitors representing destinations around the the NW and beyond, with an opportunity for networking, mining story ideas and press trips.
The 2018 IFWTWA Conference is held at historic Camp Casey with lodging at Coachman Inn, Oak Harbor.
