Illinois National Parks & Public Lands

Illinois is home to 3 Historic Trails, the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, the Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail and the Trail Of Tears National Historic Trail. It also has the Lincoln Home National Historic Site and the Pullman National Monument.

 

There are  70 State Parks, 11 State Recreational Areas and 6 State Forests, 1 National Forests, 3 National Wildlife Refuges and 17 State Wildlife Areas, 2 State Memorials, and 1 Wild & Scenic Rivers.

 

There are approximately 1800 Places listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 87 National Historic Landmarks, 18 National Natural Landmarks and 1 World Heritage Site.
