Enhancing their journey to the valley, the Spring Wine Festival presents the opportunity to indulge in the appreciation of red, white and blush wines from across Washington state. This year’s line-up of wineries boasts 30 delicious choices from the Pacific Northwest! While at the festival attendees get to sample some of the best wines in our region, indulge in gourmet bites from local restaurants, plus have the opportunity to explore sweets and savories. Attendees can explore finishing flavors of vanilla, spice, tobacco, floral, butter and berry on the historic Anacortes pier while overlooking the beautiful Guemes Channel.

May 16-19: 2nd Annual Anacortes Boat & Yacht Show – Held at Cap Sante Marina, this annual event features 250 new and brokerage boats on display in-water, on land, and at nearby boatyards, plus a 10,000 square foot tent of accessories and service providers. It’s the perfect place to start your boating season. Come see the boats and gear; enjoy the food, entertainment and family fun; and begin your boating adventure!

June 1-2: Anacortes Waterfront Festival – It’s all about letting out your inner sailor and embracing life on the water!  This annual Anacortes event has something for everyone: an open-air car show, food vendors, arts and craft booths, children’s activities, giant slides, water balls, dinners and dances, live music and entertainment, wine and beer garden, and so much more! On Saturday, Quick and Dirty Boat Building teams build boats all day and then test their floatability. Take a free boat ride – both days! – with the Anacortes Yacht Club by registering at the gazebo by the marina’s main office between 10am and 3:30pm. Hands-on children’s activities include building wooden sail boats with Fidalgo Island Rotary, games, and more. Channel of Discovery displays range from model boats, to learning about our waterfront environment and forest land wildlife. A great variety of food vendors offer everything from pulled pork sandwiches, cotton candy and hotdogs, to Gyros, Mexican tamales and more! Relax in the beer garden with live music and sea shanties.

July 20: Shipwreck Day – Held downtown, this event technically starts at 8 am, but there are usually some businesses and booths that get started right at first light, just like the old time fishermen used to. This event features over 200 vendors set up in booths along Commercial Ave.; each booth brings something new and usually very eclectic, and you are sure to find something that you can’t live without. There are also some food stands set up that serve a variety of different and delicious treats.
